With Their Hearts, People Walk is the title of the new performance and installation by the artist collective GuGuOu formed by Güneş Terkol, Güçlü Öztekin, and Oğuz Erdin at Corridor Project Space. The project With Their Hearts, People Walk is part of Corridor’s year programme In Your Own Backyard. The programme focuses on local resources, collaborations with neighbours and vicinities. Because the most interesting stories can be found in our own backyard. GuGuOu will have their studio on platform 4 at LLOYD.
For this new work, GuGuOu will concentrate on sound and movement. As inspiration they take the location of the Veemkade and the history of LLOYD as departure point of migration. Distant sounds unknown to those whom travel may not be appreciated at first, while other sounds may create melodies in our heads that we keep with us during our walks.
GuGuOu will make a fabric banner with hand sewed characters leading to a story without an clear narrator in LLOYD. Its content will be shaped by the surroundings and encounters they will have in Amsterdam East. Between 31 March and 3 April the artists will be working between noon till 4pm on the platform. From 3 April till 5 April the result of their works will be exhibited in the same space. During both dates, the space is open for public, you are more than welcome to see their process and the new embroidery specially made for this collaboration.

Opening
5 pm welcome drink provided by LLOYD at platform 3 of the building. Oostelijke Handelskade 34.
5.30 pm introduction
6 pm take the banner and walk with acoustic music parade to Corridor, Veemkade 574.
6 - 9 pm opening at Corridor
7 pm music performance by GuGuOu
8 pm open jam session bring your own instrument
